Drive-by for Pie Library Fundraiser

Darn this COVID-19! Our usual Pi Day Pie Day held each March 14th was a no-go this year. What to do? Let’s move the Pie Day outside and celebrate Earth Day instead!

Come join us on Thursday, April 22nd at 11:30 AM for homemade PIE! Library volunteers will have pie to go until it’s all gone. Free will offering with all proceeds going toward the Summer Reading Challenge program for Children, Teens and Adults.

We will have other baked goods available as well.

Print and color (or not)

Ok here’s your challenge: we’ve started this drawing now it’s up to you to finish it. How will you do that? Will you continue using a black marker and add more lines? A bevy of geometric motifs? Or will you add COLOR? Maybe just black, white and red? Or an explosion of the color wheel? It’s all up to you!

We want to see your finished work! Share on social media with the hashtag #BOCOmakeanddo

Here’s a little something fun to do in honor of Spring while still maintaining the practice of social distancing!

This is your chance to take a break from your phone, get present, and fully be in the moment just observing your scavenger finds. Let it be an opportunity to fuel your creativity by taking your own photos of what you come up with!

Do what you need to and just have fun!!

Can you hear and see a Meadowlark? Can you find a sunrise?
Can you find a sunset?
Can you take deep breath of spring air?
Can you find a crocus?
Can you find a tree?
Can you find a muddy footprint or an animal track?
Can you feel the grass beneath your feet?
Can you find cloud? Can you find a feather?

Thank you Bowman-Slope Community Foundation!

Thank you to the Bowman-Slope Community Foundation for supporting the Library’s new Calm Down Corner! A calm down corner is a place for angry or upset children (and adults too!) to go to engage their minds, release their anger and regulate their emotions. It’s a comforting space with sensory, calming and engaging activities.
